AirMooseOne, it's the standard procedure of the DPS. A majority (if not all) of their patrol units DO NOT have cages or any type of separation between the front and rear seats. It's standard procedure for them to place all prisoners in the front of the vehicle.

What I'd like to know is why the State Trooper placed the driver in the front seat of his patrol car as opposed to the rear? That's how LEO's get killed and cruisers get stolen. Police Academy 101.
