I'm shocked with how many officers are more concerned about a fellow officer being handcuffed than about the fact that the officer was abusing his position and endangering the lives of others to get to an extra job. Driving recklessly in a city vehicle while off duty is grounds for termination, and I would think more officers would be concerned about the poor image this officer created than another officer handcuffing him.

Yea, this is totally uncalled for. However, the Miami officer was totally wrong and does not deserve to share the badge. The trooper had the right to stop him, but I think she took it a little too far.

This whole thing was just absolutely ridiculous. He was going too fast and should've known to drive like he had some sense. However, who thinks another unit is going to stop you in a marked cruiser? That doesn't happen too often. In fact, this is the only instance I can recall where it ever happened. The trooper handled it very badly, I think. Once she established it was an officer driving, she should've just issued the cite and gone on with her day. The Miami officer should've stopped way sooner, but handcuffing a uniformed officer for a misdemeanor speed? Totally absurd.

Wow is right. The trooper was basing her stop on the alleged actions of Miami Police Department Officers, not this particular Officer. She apparently knows how to profile cars, but not how to conduct a basic traffic investigation. She assumed this was her speeder. With that kind of due diligence from FHP she must be very popular with all the agencies in the area. She went overboard.
