20 bucks says the majority of the firearms where stolen, some recently. From a crack heads point of view it's the perfect crime. Steal a gun and the cops pay me $100 for it and they won't arrest me. Duh.

This type of idiocy is predicated upon the false idea that Guns kill people." Someone should have told that to Cain before he bashed in Abel's skull with a rock. Murder's in the heart, not the implement. All Chicago PD has accomplished is to make the streets safer for the criminal. Less weapons are available for citizens to protect themselves. "

This is exactly the type of of blind stupidity that will eventually lead to the self destruction of this great country. I wonder how many family heirlooms were turned in without the knowledge of the rightful owner just because of this type of misguided socialist thinking. And to think that a police official is involved makes me even more embarrassed of my own profession. Col. Dave Grossman summed it up best with one little comment.... "bahhhhhhhh".

This program also encourages burglaries by promising them $ 100 value for every gun they can steal, which makes the City of Chicago a fencing operation for stolen goods. Making crime MORE profitable and citizens LESS able to protect themselves is NOT helping the honest public.
