Female Cop Uses Moving Car as Shield

Quick thinking on the female officer's part to use the moving cruiser for cover/concealment. Also, a pretty good tap-rack malfunction drill when her gun jammed from an awkward shot (one handed with the wrist unlocked); however when in a gunfight the only thing that counts is survival. Well done.

I'm a civilian, but a retired Navy mechanic with very minimal amounts of Law Enforcement training. I couldnt tell you what she did right...or wrong. The one thing I see in front of me is a Law Officer that kept her cool (from my perspective) and did her department proud. Could have ended much worse than it did. God Bless all of you in Blue.....

This woman, who I personally know and love, is a hero whose life was nearly taken by a crazed bank robber armed with an assault rifle. Monday morning quarterbacks who say anything but Wow, what a cop, what a woman," should be ashamed. Be a brother in blue, not a jerk behind your keyboard... I’m guessing those of you with hypercritical opinions are really popular with your peers at your own PD’s, right? Good job Officer Bellis Warner, good job!!!"

Those of you talking about tunnel vision and not putting the car in park have obviously not been shot at before. Finger pointers! Bet you leave your siren on after pursuits, but hey, no tunnel vision there, right?

Her name is Officer Stephanie Warner, she has since married and left the force. I lived in Brentwood, TN & interviewed Lt. Thomas Walsh who was shot in the process. Officer Warner was fired upon while in her vehicle, hit by shrapnel, saved by her clipboard, she returned fire.
